Can the IC Recorder be used to record telephone conversations?

Yes. Telephone conversations can be recorded with the IC Recorder via a telephone-recording adapter.

Note: Telephone recording adapters may not be able to be connected to some types of telephones.
Please check with the local law enforcement agency to determine if it is legal to record a telephone conversation.

There are two types of adapters:
1.  Telephone Recording Adapter: TL-R10
This adapter is connected to telephone lines, and output from the adapter is connected with the MIC jack of the IC Recorder.

Note:
- Before recording, check the conversation level and the recording level after connecting the adapter with the IC Recorder.
- Even though the beep sound and dial tone have been recorded, the conversation may be recorded with low volume. In such cases, start the recording only when the conversation begins.
- When removing a cord, pull it out holding the plug, and not the cord cable. When inserting a plug, push it until there is a "click" sound.
- It cannot be used for 2-line phone such as office phones.
- Sony is not responsible for telephone conversations that are not recorded properly due to whatever reason.

2.  Telephone Recording Adapter: TL-RH30
This adapter is connected to the coiled cord of the receiver of the telephone. It can be used for business phone as well.
* It may not be able to use for some telephones.

Note:
- It cannot be used for telephones whose coiled cord is not modular plug.
- Before recording, check the conversation level and the recording level after connecting the adapter with the IC Recorder.
