IMPORTANT: This article applies only to specific products. Check the Applicable Products and Categories section of this article.
The TV remote controls include tactile dots to help you identify certain buttons by touch. These dots make it easier to locate commonly used buttons without looking at the remote control.
Note: Button layout and availability vary by TV model and remote control model. Your remote control may include only some of the buttons described in this article.
Depending on the model, tactile dots may be provided on the following buttons.
- PLAY or PLAY/PAUSE
- AUDIO
- CLOSED CAPTIONS
- Numerical 5
- Channel Up
For example, the Channel and Volume buttons are the same shape, but you can distinguish between them because the Channel Up button has a tactile dot.
- Volume and Channel buttons: The Volume and Channel buttons have the same shape. However, only the + (Plus) symbol on the Channel button has a tactile dot. This helps you distinguish between the two buttons by touch.
- Numerical buttons: Among the numerical buttons, only the numerical 5 button has a tactile dot to help. This dot helps you locate the center of the keypad and identify the other number buttons more easily.
Note: Some buttons have unique shapes to make them easier to identify by touch. For example:
- The Home button and Microphone button have a convex shape in the center.
- The Mute button and Back button have a concave shape in the center.
