excellent sound and simple setup for cheap price

replaced 8year old samsung soundbar and sub with 3d surround after the motherboard fried which was excellent for sound but this sony 5.1 wireless Bluetooth centre/l/r rear setup is another level, helicopters, police cars sound like they are outside the frontroom window and my gaming setup has another level of immersion because of all the extra sound effects that are now present all around, it has some hidden sttings also to adjust the distance and volume level of rear speakers to accommodate small medium and large sized living rooms

The system sounded great, but now the rear speakers pop. I checked the connection and rebooted the system. Anyone have any idea about a warranty? How do I get working stuff?

Love the product But the cable for the woofer should be longer ! And I am hoping you have A three or four feet extension because the system sounds much better if the woofer has distance ! So I really could use two feet cable

The speaker system is very good, delivering excellent sound quality. The true surround sound experience is fantastic, provided you are playing content with a dedicated 5.1 audio channel. However, it is very disappointing that the two surround sound speakers are essentially useless when playing standard stereo music or non-5.1 content. There is no apparent option to set all speakers to play sound simultaneously from these sources. An option to upmix stereo to use all 5.1 channels would significantly improve the product's versatility for everyday listening.

I was very satisfied with my HT-R3 set when out of sudden it failed on me. So after researching through the web & youtube, i decided to buy the HT-S40R. It was great but not as amazing as the HT-R3 as i found the sound from the S40R is not as crisp as the R3. Nevertheless, S40R is still a good choice if you’re looking into affordability.

After a month of use and I am very satisfied with the HT-S40R, it is best value for money hits the price bracket perfectly and delivers superior movie experience. The blue light discount was a well appreciated extra. The soundbar is awesome. Especially with the two rear speakers making a full dound experience. They also help when watching TV at night with the sound down. The wireless connection made installation so simple. Also the soundbar turns on/off and volume with the tv remote. Good specification for most users.

In my case I couldn't use eARC hdmi port because it was already in use but optical port did the trick. Very good sound if you have a proper 5.1 content.

About the sound it is great but the manual on how to adjust the sound is bad. It is just as simple as map for the menu and the description that all I need, not how to make the connection for the speaker. The connectivity basic, everyone who purchase the item should know but how to browse your menu and what it does is more important.

I brought this to replace a much older system that was failing and am so glad that I did. Simple to set up to the TV and the wireless back surround speakers (wireless to main unit but wired to sub amp) make a great difference to the sound. Brilliant three dimensional sound enhances whatever you are watching. Well worth its cost, which in itself was quite reasonable.
