versatile lens, sharp and fast only thing is it too heavy and not wide enough, the thread is too big, hard to get filter

The zoom is great but the sharpness is not good enough for the price point. I wish i would have invested in a prime 85mm and 35mm instead

Image quality is good, GM lens is top tier, never regret to buy GM lens

A significant upgrade to my already excellent 24-70 GM2. The photos have a unique softness despite the sharp clarity. Low light performance is considerably better and that is a big plus for me

Despite owning a 2470GM ii, I purchased a 2870GM a month ago with no regrets. The picture was bursting into life. Autofocus striking is precise and quick. With my cherished A7r 5, weight is well balanced. I absolutely adore it. Thank you, Sony. Fantastic Feature

fe2870gm really is a great tools for me on wedding photography.

This lens is awsome to use, almost a prime killer, although on the bulky side. Also, can create some "onion rings" effects in certain conditions that can undesirable. But overal a very solid lens. Very good build quality and crazy fast autofocus for the size of the lens.

Amazing image quality, sharpness and autofocus is very quick. Great lens for all rounder. I just need one lens for all most range.

Everything is just sharp and rich in detail through entire focal length. I dont mind the weight in using this for travel

I am using this FE 28-70mm F2 GM on my Sony A7R 4 camera. Fast focusing from poor to dim lighting when pair up is marvelous on its 28 mm to 70 mm range not cannibalizing their 24 mm and 75 mm range which allocate to their prime Lense that they have created. Keeper rates on a day light shoot is 4/5 when subject is about 1 arm's length away from shooter. Good Lense to recommend for its weight and versatility as compared to her competitors.

I bought this During Dec 2024 Pre-Order as an upgrade for mine Sony 24-50mm F2.8 G lens. Even its heavy and bulky than my old lens, however the gripping are way too better than expected. The image quality of GM F2 Zoom lens are always perfect as expected

The utilitarian urban Everyday Carry lens, for 70mm tight zooms to 28mm group shots. Providing a constant f2 aperture across the focal lengths. A dependable grab-and-go lens for natural light scenarios, and beautiful bokeh.

Great overall! Surprisingly balanced and does not feel too heavy. I handheld this with the A7R V around NYC for a full day with no problem. Very sharp, close in terms of my 35mm 1.4 GM but to have zoom at f2 is wonderful and convenient.

Its both heavy and bulky, but at the convenient of good portraitures as oppose to getting all primes within the range.

It is an amazing do-it-all lens that I am super pleased with. Having f2 in a zoom lens makes it perfect for low-light wedding and event photography. This is a great middle ground between fast primes and versatile zoom lenses. The only downside for me is the heavy distortion at 28 mm. Hopefully soon there will be a lens profile correction for lightroom and some in camera distortion fix for video.

Blown away by the quality of this lens. Looking forward to putting it through its paces at this weekends weddiing
