I bought this to work with a 75" LG TV which had terrible built-in speakers, and the Sony soundbar works great! Install was easy and no issues, and really helps out with the sound via the TV. I also use it for Blue Tooth audio via my phone, and once again, no issues and delivers good audio. For the price, I couldn't be happier.

I purchased the Sony HT-S100F soundbar on 7th Dec 2025 from AEON Mid-Valley to upgrade the audio system of my LG TV 50UQ7550, after persuaded by the sales person that according to him this Sony Soundbar is more value for money compared to a demo set LG soundbar that I'm considering for. Due to space limitation, I prefer a 1 piece soundbar vs the one with a sub-woofer separately. Overall, I'm quite satisfied with this Sony HT-S100F after almost 1 month of using. The setup was straightforward. I connected it to my TV using the provided optical (audio fiber) cable, and it worked instantly. The Bluetooth feature is also handy for streaming music from my phone. This is where the soundbar shines for its price. The clarity in the mid and high ranges is excellent. Dialogues in TV shows and news are clearer than my TV's built-in speakers, and vocal-heavy music sounds crisp and detailed. It's a significant upgrade for everyday viewing and casual listening. The one noticeable trade-off is the lack of deep bass. While action movies and bass-heavy music are clearer, they don't have that powerful, rumbling low-end. If you're a serious movie buff craving a cinematic "punch," this might not be sufficient on its own. Also, note that when both the TV and soundbar are active, you can get an echo effect. My simple solution is to just mute the TV's speakers, letting the soundbar handle all the audio, which works perfectly. For the price, the Sony HT-S100F is an outstanding value. It solves the core problem of muddy TV audio with fantastic clarity and is incredibly easy to use. If your priority is crystal-clear dialogue, enhanced vocals, and a tidy upgrade without breaking the bank, this is a fantastic choice. Just temper your expectations for room-shaking bass.

1. Press volume + and check the volume level.
2. Check that all the cables and cords of the system and the connected device are firmly inserted.
3. Use a high-speed HDMI cable.
4. If the connected device supports the up-sampling feature, you need to turn it off.
5. Connect the soundbar to different devices.
6. Try playing different contents.
7. Unplug the soundbar from the mains for 1 minute, then plug it back in.

Doesn’t always Sync

Have been using it for 4 months. mmmm and still not 100% happy. 50% of the time the sound from the sound bar doesn’t always sync with the tv. Turning the tv and sound bar off and on again usually fixes the problem, but it happens many times when the tv/ soundbar don’t sync. Disappointing TV, Soundbar, HDMI all Sony?

The soundbar offers clarity and immersive surround effects, making movies feel more engaging. However, in certain situations, you may notice a slight audio delay compared to the picture.

We recommend following the below steps to fix your issue:

2- Remove the soundbar's power cable from the wall socket and then plug it back in to complete the reset process.
3- Use an optical cable.

The sound is good and the original setting of music and cinema mode provide a suitable sound experience when we use it for different usage. the design is sleek and nice. the only drawback is the bluetooth connection mode cannot access through the remote, create a hassle to go over to the soundbar to press the button if we need to connect it to different devices.

Bought this a little over 2 months ago. I don't watch tv that often though but lately it is not making any sound. I can mute the TV but none of the buttons on the bar's remote will do anything or increase the volume. Very poor instructions to operate. I'm connected via the optical digital cable provided.

Sound Bar Helps me hear the TV

Sound Bar definitely helps me better hear the spoken dialog on my Sony TV. However the optical cable provided with the sound bar is very very difficult to fit into the Sound Bar. It took me forever. The input jack is in a very bad location. Please relocate the input jack!!

True that it delivers punchy bass(but not rumbly since there is no subwoofer). Excellent clarity for both video and music, auto or manually choosing cinema/ music works best for me, the difference being more a bit more treble in cinema mode. Don't expect the surround effect you get with sound force pro like in the ht-s400, but the sound stage here is good as well. Goes really loud! Bang for the buck!
