Table of Contents
Screen Reader
This function reads aloud on-screen information such as text.
Only some languages may be supported, depending on the model. This function is available only when the language selected in the menu is supported.
To keep the screen reader function always enabled, press and hold the MENU button on the initial setup screen, which appears when you turn on the camera for the first time. The screen reader function will be enabled.
Once you use the screen reader function on the initial setup screen, it will remain enabled afterward, and you can turn it on or off by pressing and holding the MENU button.
Note: The MENU button is located on the rear of the camera, to the left of the viewfinder eyepiece, just above the monitor. It is a long, horizontal button.
Please refer to the Help Guide for setup instructions.
Enlarge Screen
This function enlarges the MENU screen for better text readability. (Some MENU screens do not support enlargement.)
Press the C2 button (Custom button 2) on the menu screen to enlarge the display. You can move the enlarged area using the multi-selector, front dial, rear dial L, rear dial R, or by turning the control wheel.
Please refer to the Help Guide for setup instructions.
Control Setting for the Mode Dial
This function lets you adjust settings via the menu instead of using the physical mode dial on the camera.
Please refer to the Help Guide for setup instructions.
Focus Magnifier
This function lets you check focus by enlarging the image before shooting. You can also use the Focus Magnifier via touch operation.
Please refer to the Help Guide for setup instructions.
Focus Map (Movie)
When recording movies, this function displays areas that are in focus and out of focus so you can distinguish them visually. Areas behind the in-focus region are shown with dots in a cool color, and areas in front of the in-focus region are shown with dots in a warm color.
Please refer to the Help Guide for setup instructions.
Peaking Display
This function emphasizes the outlines of in-focus areas when shooting with Manual Focus or Direct Manual Focus. When recording movies, you can also use the peaking function with autofocus.
Please refer to the Help Guide for setup instructions.
Subject Recognition in AF
If you set the subject in advance, this function enables the camera to automatically recognize the subject and focus on features such as the eyes when shooting images. The camera focuses on the subject's eyes, head, body, or entire form recognized in or around the designated Focus Area. When shooting still images, the camera focuses on the subject when you press the shutter button halfway down. When recording movies, the camera will focus on the recognized subject, even without pressing the shutter button.
Please refer to the Help Guide for setup instructions.
Touch Tracking
This function lets you use touch operations to select a subject you want the camera to track in still image shooting mode and movie recording mode.
Please refer to the Help Guide for setup instructions.
Touch Focus
When using autofocus, this function lets you specify a focus point by touching the monitor.
After touching the monitor, press the shutter button halfway down to focus.
You can also touch the subject to focus on it when recording movies (when shooting with the monitor).
Please refer to the Help Guide for setup instructions.
Touch Shutter
When using autofocus in still image shooting mode, this function automatically focuses on the point you touch and captures the image (when shooting with the monitor).
Please refer to the Help Guide for setup instructions.
Touch AE
This function automatically sets the exposure based on the brightness of the point you touch. You can fine-tune brightness by sliding the brightness adjustment bar that appears after touching (when shooting with the monitor).
Please refer to the Help Guide for setup instructions.
Multi-angle LCD screen
The 4-axis Multi-angle LCD screen provides unrestricted angle adjustment both horizontally and vertically. This makes it easier to check the image on the LCD screen during or after a shoot, regardless of camera placement or orientation, even when you are seated.
Custom Function
This function lets you assign frequently used operations to easily accessible buttons and dials. This allows you to skip navigating through the menu and quickly recall functions. You can assign functions separately to buttons and dials for still image shooting, movie shooting, and playback.
Please refer to the Help Guide for setup instructions.
