Noise appears during fast‑moving scenes or scene transitions.

The Motionflow feature smooths motion by inserting additional frames between images, in some cases, this processing can cause visual noise to appear in the following situations:

• Switching between scenes or fast-moving scenes
• On the screen edges in fast-moving scenes

Note: Not all Sony TVs include adjustable Motionflow settings. If Motionflow is listed in Sony's BRAVIA technical specifications or marketing materials but does not appear in the TV menu, the TV automatically adjusts the settings.

Change the Motionflow settings

If this noise is distracting, adjusting the Motionflow settings may help reduce it.

1. Open Settings
   • If the remote control has a Quick Settings ( or ) button, press the Quick Settings button and select Settings.
   • If the remote control does not have a Quick Settings ( or ) button, press the HOME button and select Settings.
2. Navigate to Motionflow

   Depending on your TV’s software version, the menu labels may differ slightly. Choose the option that most closely matches your TV menu.

   • Select Picture settings → Picture or Advanced → Motion → Motionflow.
   • Select Display & Sound → Picture & Sound → Picture → Motion → Motionflow.
   • Select Display & Sound → Picture → Motion → Motionflow.
   • Select Display & Sound or Display → Picture or Picture Adjustments → Advanced settings or Advanced → Motion → Motionflow.
   • Select Picture & Display or BRAVIA Settings → Picture adjustments → Advanced settings or Advanced → Motion → Motionflow.
   • Select Display or Preferences → Picture → Motionflow.
3. The video you are playing is displayed on the screen. While watching the screen, try selecting a different Motionflow mode to see if the noise is reduced.
4. If changing other settings does not reduce the noise, select Custom mode and adjust Smoothness:
   Note: Depending on the model, Custom mode setting may not be available, or the Smoothness setting may have a slightly different name.
   Change the Custom setting

   These images are examples of the display screen.

   1. In Motionflow, select Custom.
      
   2. Select Smoothness and change the level by pressing the Down, Left, or Right buttons.
      
5. If noise is not reduced, set Motionflow to Off.
6. If the issue persists, switching the Picture mode to Game may help resolve the issue.
   Note: Depending on the model and type of content being viewed, Game mode may not be available.

   In Settings, follow the steps that apply to your TV menu:

   • Select Picture settings → Picture → Picture mode → Game.
   • Select Display & Sound → Picture & Sound → Picture → Picture mode → Game.
   • Select Display & Sound or Display → Picture → Picture mode → Game.
   • Select Picture & Display or BRAVIA Settings → Picture adjustments → Picture mode → Game.
